Rio Tinto has introduced this Portal to allow businesses to view expressions of interest (EOIs) for goods and / or services required by Rio Tinto from time to time, and to allow eligible businesses (ie. those that have completed the registration process) to submit responses to those EOIs.

Rio Tinto will decide, in its absolute discretion, which businesses that have responded to an EOI will be invited to respond to a Request Document issued by Rio Tinto for the supply of goods/services that it requires (which may be through a request for information (RFI), a request for proposal (RFP), a request for tender (RFT) a request for quote (RFQ) or any other form of request document issued by Rio Tinto).

Uploading or posting a response to an EOI does not guarantee that Rio Tinto will invite you to respond to a Request Document or that Rio Tinto will ultimately issue you with a Purchase Order or enter into a Contract with you. Rio Tinto reserves its absolute discretion in respect of these matters and will have no liability to you as a result of any decision to award or not award a contract to you.

The proposed Maths and Science Tutoring Programme aims to improve educational outcomes for learners from RBM host communities by providing structured academic support in Mathematics and Science over a three-year period (2027-2029). The programme will support 40 Grade 10 learners from the Mbonambi, Sokhulu, Mkhwanazi, and Dube communities (10 learners from each community), guiding them through to Grade 12 completion. Services will include qualified tutors, study materials, and suitable tutorial venues, with classes conducted primarily on Saturdays from February to November, totaling approximately 42 tutoring days per year. The initiative seeks to address learning gaps, enhance academic performance, improve access to tertiary education, bursaries, and scholarships, and contribute to the long-term socio-economic development of host communities. The appointed service provider will also be required to submit course plans and monthly learner performance reports to RBM.

The Contractor shall perform all service corridor construction activities except for the supply of pipes and cables to be supplied by CHEC, including but not limited to:

1.2.1 Raw Water Pump Station.

 

The scope of work comprises the following:

·         Temporary Works: Design and submission for approval of temporary works, including excavation support, dewatering, turbidity fencing, groyne, cofferdams and secant pile walls.

 

·         Site Preparation and Temporary Facilities: Site clearing, security fencing, access control, temporary lighting and power supply.

·         Excavation, Dewatering and Foundations: Excavation and dewatering works, piling, foundation works and associated preparatory works.

·         Intake Pump Station: Construction of the Intake Pump Station structure, including preparatory layers and associated structural works.

·         High Lift Pump Station: Bulk excavation, piling, foundations, pipe caps and structural concrete works for the High Lift Pump Station.

·         MV and Transformer Facilities: Construction of the MV switch room and transformer room, including associated structural and building works.

·         Building and Architectural Works: Supply and installation of vandal-proof doors, roller shutters, windows, glazing and ventilation louvres, together with associated brickwork, plastering and building finishes.

·         Pipework and Reinstatement: Fabrication or installation of cast-in pipework, backfilling and making good of excavations following completion of pipe installation.

External Works and Rehabilitation: Construction of hardstanding areas, Loeffelstein walls and stone pitching, bulk earthworks, site rehabilitation, removal of spoil, final site clean-up and making good of all affected areas

The objective of this project is to execute comprehensive multi-disciplinary renovations, interior modernisations, and structural expansions at the ZN2 Mining Office facility. The scope requires a qualified main contractor to manage all civil, structural, architectural, electrical, ICT, and HVAC works under a single point of accountability.

Key execution parameters include:

Structural Infrastructure & Civil Works: Excavation and casting of approximately 40 concrete foundation base pads, demolition of existing exterior brick staircases/ramps, and the manufacturing and installation of structural steel support columns.
Modular Expansion & Integration: Assembly and precise positioning of four (4) prefabricated modular container office blocks, including localized wall panel cutouts, structural splicing, and heavy-duty industrial weatherproofing/waterproofing seals.
Interior Modernisation: High-spec architectural fit-out and refurbishment of existing offices, boardrooms, open-plan work areas, kitchenettes, and ablution facilities.
Utilities & Services Integration: Supply and routing of new electrical infrastructure in strict compliance with RBM Specification RESP-000 and SANS 10142-1 wireway standards, full integration of localized ICT/data networks
