Overview of General Supply Requirements

This project involves the construction of a Self-Supporting Lattice Telecommunication Tower to support microwave communication, data transmission, and operational communication systems within the project area. The tower will form part of the core ICT infrastructure backbone.

Excluding civil construction works, the scope of work encompasses the complete execution of telecommunication tower non-civil works, including:

l Supply of hot-dip galvanized lattice tower structure

l Erection of lattice tower structure

l Installation of climbing ladder, platforms, and safety systems

l Installation of antenna mounting brackets and equipment frames

l Lightning protection and earthing system installation

l Cable ladder installation and routing provisions

l Aviation obstruction lighting installation

l Site reinstatement and finishing works (excluding civil construction components)

The measurement equipment is required as a once off supply for the Zulti South Project

1. General

Richards Bay Mining (Pty) Ltd T/A Richards Bay Minerals seeks to empower People with Disabilities (PWDs) through accredited learnerships that enhance employability and promote self-sustainability. This initiative aligns with our commitment to inclusive development and social upliftment. 

2. Objectives

To appoint an accredited Skills Development Provider that will deliver turnkey solution that covers a meaningful learnership to unemployed people with disabilities, focusing on 

• Skills and qualifications that improve employability in the formal job market or specific sector
• Skills that promote self-sustainability, including entrepreneurship and income-generating activities

3. Description of Service Required

   3.1 Target Group

• Minimum of 20 Learners 
• Recruit and source in partnership with Richards Bay Minerals the correct demographics to meet our B-BBEE requirements
• Learners will be selected from the host communities (Mbonambi, Sokhulu, Mkwanazi and Dube)
• The SDP must demonstrate their experience and accreditation in working with PWDs this will also include Capacity, Flexibility and sector specific training as an accredited SDP to ensure accessibility and inclusiveness in training delivery. 

3.2 SDP Responsibilities

The appointed service provider will be responsible for

• Learner Identification and Selection
• End to end Identification, screening and selection of eligible learners with disabilities
• Verification of documentation, including disability certification and compliance with skills legislation requirements
• Registration and certification of Learners
• Provide both on-site hosted and off-site client hosted program options
• Guide and assist Richards Bay Minerals with Workplace Approval if required
• Alignment of learner profiles to host site requirements to ensure suitability and readiness for workplace exposure or practical components.  

Training Delivery 

• Delivery of an accredited 12-month occupational qualification programe/ learnership accredited by Quality Council for trades and Occupations (QCTO)
• Learnership types/selection should be aligned to either sector specific skills and/ or scarce skills in agreement with client. 

Project Administration 

• Learner registration and Portfolio of Evidence (POE) management
• Monthly reporting, attendance and tracking and submission
• Application of Discretionary Grant Funding to relevant SETA
• Facilitation of learner stipends, where applicable
• Final Assessments aligned to QCTO (EISA/FISA) and administration thereof
• Quality assurance, verification preparation, and certification support
• Learner support: Ongoing mentorship and workplace coaching

Supply and Delivery of 50 ppm Diesel for the Zulti South Project (CC013)

1. Overview of General Supply Requirements

The sub-contractor will be required to supply and deliver 50 ppm diesel as and when required with a 10 000 Liter diesel tanker. The diesel tanker will be delivered on site for rental for a specific period of time. The below depicts the typical specification requirements:

The earthworks for the designated areas of the Process Plant mainly comprise earth excavation, on-site hauling and balancing, foundation base treatment and compaction, earth backfilling with layered compaction, slope trimming and protection, as well as construction quality inspection and acceptance.

The main quantities of work are approximately 200,000 cubic meters of earth excavation, 100,000 cubic meters of earth backfilling, and 60,000 cubic meters of surplus excavated material to be disposed of off-site.

2.1 Pre-Qualification Requirements

The sub-contractor must provide evidence of the following pre-qualification requirements to be considered for this EOI:

Oversized and Standard Dimension Equipment Transportation Solutions

The transportation plan is divided into two main parts: oversized equipment transport and standard dimension equipment transport. Standard dimension equipment can be shipped via container or bulk carrier to Durban Port, and then transported to Richards Bay using specialized heavy-duty vehicles and standard transport trucks. The total number of trips required is estimated to be approximately 30-60.

The total area of soft soil ground treatment is approximately 10 hectares, to be implemented by the combined technology of RI gravel piles, vibroflotation gravel piles and dynamic compaction. Among them, there are about 1,500 gravel piles (with a pile diameter of 0.4m-0.8m and a pile length of approximately 15m), and the dynamic compaction treatment area is around 100,000 m².
