We hereby invite suitably qualified and experienced suppliers to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the supply and delivery of approximately 65,308 m² of black dense-mesh safety netting for the CHEC Zulti South Project.

This EOI is the first stage of a two-stage procurement process. Interested parties will be shortlisted based on their submitted EOI and may later receive a Request for Proposal (RFP).

1.      Scope of Supply

The successful bidder shall supply and deliver approximately 65,308 m² of black dense-mesh safety netting in accordance with the minimum requirements specified below.

The material shall comply with the following minimum technical requirements:

• Colour: Black
• Shading rate: 80%
• Roll dimensions: 3 m × 50 m
• Area per roll: 150 m²
• Required netting area: 65,308 m²
• The material shall be suitable for outdoor construction and industrial applications
• The mesh shall be of consistent manufacture and free from defects, tears, holes or other damage
• The material shall be suitable for the intended environmental conditions at the project site.
• The supplier shall provide confirmation of the manufacturer's specified 80% shading rate
• The supplier shall provide confirmation that each roll complies with the specified 3 m × 50 m dimensions
• The supplier shall provide the product's technical datasheet and relevant manufacturer's specifications

The scope of works includes the Fire Protection and Fire Detection, Alarms and Controls Packages which encompasses the comprehensive supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of an integrated fire protection and fire detection system across the entire site. The subcontractor shall coordinate all interfaces with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control work and shall comply with the approved project specifications, applicable SANS/NFPA standards, statutory requirements and Employer's HSE and quality requirements.

The final scope shall include all necessary labour, supervision, specialist personnel, plant, equipment, materials, consumables, temporary works, access equipment, testing instruments, documentation and commissioning resources required to deliver a complete, functional and operational fire protection and fire detection system. Handovers shall include as-built drawings, test certificates, commissioning records, operation and maintenance manuals, training and all other required project close-out documentation.

The Fire Protection and Fire Detection, Alarms and Controls Packages consist mainly of the following WBS packages:

2.1 Fire Protection

The scope of fire protection work includes, but is not limited to, the following:

 General Requirements

·         Fire Protection equipment installation and assembly

·         Fire Protection piping installation and assembly

·         Fire Deluge System design and installation

·         Fire system painting as required

·         Fire system testing and commissioning

 Materials and Equipment (The RFP will specify who is responsible for providing these items)

·         Portable Fire Extinguishers

·         Fire Water Pumps

·         Fire Water Pipe and Valves

2.2 Fire Detection, Alarms and Controls

The scope of fire detection, alarms and controls work includes, but is not limited to, the following:

 Materials and Equipment (The RFP will specify who is responsible for providing these items)

The appointed Contractor will be responsible for the complete execution of the graveyard fencing works, including all necessary site establishment, preparation, clearing, earthworks, supply and installation of fencing components, access gates, supervision, plant, equipment and associated activities required to deliver the works safely, efficiently and in accordance with the project requirements.

The scope of works comprises the construction of approximately 263 m of 1.5 m high graveyard fencing measured from Natural Ground Level (NGL) and the Contractor shall also accommodate the specific requirements associated with the identified Small Graveyard, including the protection of graves and memorial features and construction of the fencing in accordance with the approved layout and project drawings.
